The Challenge Of Freedom

The Challenges of Freedom.

Today was very special day for us as a church. How often do churches move from one worship venue to another? How often do churches move from a setting rented per part-day to one that is theirs 24/7? How often do churches begin a Sunday morning in one building and end in another? How often are church communities blessed almost simultaneously both by their old host landlord and their new one? I don't know but all this happened for us today and I am celebrating.

Church Moving Time

The time has come to move church venues.  After many years of praying, dreaming, researching and waiting we are ready to move.  I feel an affinity with Moses and the exodus generation when time came to leave Egypt and head out into the wilderness.  It's a great frame of faith and hope, knowing what you have known and adjusted to, to embark on an adventure which is not fully mapped out.

10 September 2009

Up until now I have written a chaplain’s comment every three months.  As we move from OUTLOOK magazine to the web-based medium I now get to blog.  That may well be the difference between things what to present on paper on about one page about something that characterizes the season to what is floating to the top right now?

There is one big fish on my mind right now and lots of little minnows swimming around that usually would not get a mention but just might now.  The big fish is our church’s great need for a new venue, what is happening, not happening and glimpses of God’s hand in all that.
