De Pracht Open Day

Francis Noordanus

On Sunday 6 September I was part of an enthusiastic group spending some of our Sunday afternoon engaging passers by at the De Pracht open day.  A free coffee and cake stall was set up outside in the sunshine, Arul’s Indian Children’s choir sang inside, musicians made hospitable sounds, hosts and hostesses chatted with those wanting to know more.  Not to be overlooked are those who knitted and got others knitting.

These snap-shots show how it was outside our entrance.

At the Council meeting on the following Monday it was clear that this had been a positive experience and the desire is there to build on this next year.  One local English speaker drawn to the knitting table was pleased to discover an Anglican church that was both English speaking and ‘child welcoming’.
