Kidz Church (Children Group)

KidZchurch is the name of the children’s ministry at Trinity Church. We meet on Sunday mornings from 10:30- 12:00. This is an exciting program for children ages 4-11.

Our goal is to make this the best hour of every kid’s week. We do this by planning a curriculum that brings the Bible to life and teaches children how to grow closer to God through prayer and lively worship. KidZchurch keeps Jesus Christ at the centre; always encouraging children to grow in their faith.

Our services are outlined by three questions: Know what? (children hear the Bible story) So what? (What does the story really mean?) Now what? (They learn how they can apply what the message is in their daily lives.) The first two questions are explored in a large group setting. The third is experienced in an age appropriate small group where children also have the opportunity to pray.

We started the New Year by sharing our happy memories of 2007 and other memories that we would prefer to forget.  The children were encouraged to put the worries, problems and failures of last year behind them and look ahead towards this year and aim to try to do better with God’s help.  We focused on Phillippians 3:12 -13.

This week we will be focusing on giving.  We have decided to send the offering collected to a new charity (See the next Outlook for more details).  We will talk about the importance of giving, using Luke 21: 1 - 4 as our main text.  There will then be a presentation based on the new charity.  The children will be encouraged to pray for people in need around the world.

Our new theme, which is due to start on January 27th is, “The Fruit of the Spirit”.  Galatians 5:  22 - 26 will be our main text.  We hope to show that as we grow and learn more about Jesus, the Spirit will give us more and more fruit, which will help us become more Christ-like.  Each week we will examine one aspect of the Fruit of the Spirit using either drama, a story from the bible, a character from the bible and various craft activities.  We will be concluding the theme by introducing the Trinity since we will be talking about the Spirit.

Doors open at 10:15. Join us for some fun games and activities.
Worship starts at 10:30 and we finish with a yummy snack!
