Recorded on Sunday, April 7, 2013

In the days following the commemoration and celebration of the Cross and Resurrection, Francis continues read through the Beatitudes and reads the eighth beatitude as one in tune with the cross in a world of injustice while promising the new creation of the resurrection.  Some time is spent looking at historic figures whose ministries and lives illustrate what living this beatitude could look like.  The message concludes with a point of application.

Recorded on Friday, March 29, 2013

Francis asks why Jesus was on the cross that day and what was happening there.  He considered what it was for Jesus to be made sin and discounts a common misunderstanding as to the Father's role in the cross.

Discipleship 8 / Beatitude G

Recorded on Sunday, March 17, 2013

Francis continues reading the beatitudes as an overture to the Sermon on the Mount for Disciples of Jesus.  The seventh beatitude links peacemaking with being called a son of God.   This sermon establishes how both these ideas were familiar and current in the political and power landscape of the world of Jesus.
