Discipleship 6 / Beatitude E

Recorded on Sunday, February 24, 2013

In progressing through the college prospectus on discipleship offered by Jesus in the Beatitudes, Francis considers Jesus' advocacy of Mercy in relation to the high advocacy of Righteousnes-Justice heard in the preceding verse.   This is a clear indication that in God's Kingdom these play a different role than they do in the world today.  The message ends with a personal account of how mercy may be experienced by the merciful.

Discipleship 5 / Beatitude D

Recorded on Sunday, February 17, 2013

In keeping with the Old Testament's great concern for Righteousness / Justice, Jesus encourages would be disciples to make righteousness their first desire in the language of our basic appetites.  This message considers at length what is meant by righteousness drawing on the Hebrew basis and three modes of righteousness that could be desired.

Discipleship 4 / Beatitude C

Recorded on Sunday, February 3, 2013

Francis continues examining the beatitudes of Jesus to dig out what the Master was advocating as good happy-blessed practice in the Kingdom of God.  Considerable time is given here to considering what it is to be meek and how to apply that in modern life.
