Epiphany-God's Glory Revealed

Recorded on Sunday, January 6, 2013

This is a teaching sermon on the theme of Epiphany in celebrating the revelation of God's glory through Jesus, God among us.  It joins the dots on how God's purposes for the nations of the world are being fulfilled in Jesus who finally reveals the glory of God through his own being and through his Church.   NB: As inspiration came in the preaching moment the live recording departs considerably from the prepared text.

Advent Reflections on Micah and Mary.

Recorded on Sunday, December 23, 2012

These notes are offered to enable individuals or groups to reflect and pray on the messianic hope for God's salvation that underlies Christmas.  Advent is the time to appreciate the depth of the darkness and the longing it generates before enjoying the light of the Christmas message.   These readings and relfections with space for prayer were the framework for a service on Advent 4 but can be used in other settings as well.  --There is no audio file provided with this.--

Re-Set #1

Recorded on Sunday, December 2, 2012

On the first Sunday of Advent Francis seeks to re-set the basic relationship we have with God through Jesus, that of discipleship.  The opening description of Jesus' ministry is traced to see how Jesus was affirmed as God's son in a way that enabled him to call others to realise their 'sonship' as God's children living in God's Kingdom. Discipleship is the key relationship that enables this to happen so this needs to be clear.
