The Measure Of God's Love

Paul's language is sometimes so dense and rich it is hard to take in.  Francis opens up Paul's prayer for his friends using the story of Jesus feeding the 5000 as a spring board.  In the 21st century deep field astronomy provides a growing measure of what 'big' can mean that calls us to appreciate the overwhelming mystery of God and his total love for us.   Some images of Deep Space observation are drawn on and included in the text PDF.

Jesus' First Step To Compassion

In this sermon Francis focuses in on one small step that seems to preceed the compassionate actions of Jesus, namely that he looked and saw the state people were in.  Seeing the condition of others seems to be a step on the way to compassion and the actions which flow from that.  So why might we not see the needy people around us?  That question is engaged.
