The Lamb Of God and The Day Of The Lord.

Sermon of Sunday, January 16, 2011

Preacher: Francis Noordanus

Scriptures: John 1:29-42 & 1Corinthians 1:1-9

Introduction:

Francis links the Lamb of God with The Day of The Lord by asking whether people in the congregation that day came prepared to give God anything good in worship.  That springboard question leads into a consideratioin of what John the Baptist was thinking of when he told his companions to Look and see God's Lamb as Jesus walked near.  Who needs God's Lamb and why?  Anyone wanting to bring worship to a Holy God in Spirit and Truth will need the Lamb of God's provision to re-present them as pure and clean before God.  The realities have not changed from 2000 years ago and will one day be made all the sharper as humanity stands judged before the Lamb himself on the Day of The Lord.
